The Toys For Games ‘Cast is a packed house this week, with not one, but two special guests joining Josh and Jason for an incredible episode. Matt Sonnenberg (@SCLMatt) is on the show to talk about the launch of Skylanders SuperChargers, while Greg Miller (@GameOverGreggy) drops in to talk about the upcoming release of LEGO Dimensions. Yes - it’s really THAT Greg Miller!
In Part 1, the show focuses on Greg’s proper introduction to the toys-to-life genre of video games, as he talks about what he’s most excited for from LEGO Dimensions, what he’s nervous about, and even answers some tough questions. He may not be up-to-date on the Ninjago franchise, but the man sure does know his DC Universe and Ghostbusters!
Also, some recent Disney Infinity and amiibo news is discussed on this first half of Episode 38.
Be sure to check out everything that Greg and his buddies at Kinda Funny are doing over at KindaFunny.com, or on Twitter, @KindaFunnyVids!
Josh and Jason are back, just over 24 hours before the official release of Skylanders SuperChargers! After some early on Friday night shenanigans, the duo get down to business, discussing some upcoming releases for Disney Infinity 3.0, and then some fascinating LEGO Dimensions rumors - followed by the admission of one of the co-hosts knowing nothing about Harry Potter (you guess which one). From there, they talk about amiibo - both regarding the release of amiibo last Friday, as well as the upcoming release of amiibo and bundles going up for pre-order. Finally, they get down to it and fully prepare for the launch of Skylanders SuperChargers, talking about day one plans, as well as some disappointing and frustrating early reports.

Episode 36 features Josh and Jason once again, but just like last week, another special guest is crashing the party! This week, the dynamic duo of the toys-to-life genre is honored to be joined than none other than Brian Altano from IGN.com and The Comedy Button! As someone who has been leading the charge on the amiibo hype train since the beginning, Brian comes on to the show to talk about how and why he started collecting them, why he swears he’s just about done with them, and which amiibo he absolutely hates the most. Not to focus too much on just amiibo, they also ask him about Disney Infinity, Skylanders and possibly sell him on LEGO Dimensions. Oh, and don’t worry - Shopkins is discussed at much more length than anyone anticipated going into the podcast.
Thank you to Brian Altano for the laughs and the insight, and be sure to check him and all of his projects out at the various links down below!

Collectors, brace yourselves! It’s another edition of the Collector’s Edition! Somehow, Josh and Jason are up to Volume 8 in this spin-off podcast focussing heavily collecting things NOT toys-to-life related! This volume features a ton of Tsum Tsum talk, naturally, since it was recorded on Tsum Tsum Tuesday, after all. Also on the docket is Jason’s disappointment as a collector at the D23 Expo, upcoming LEGO minifigures, and a preview of Star Wars day on Friday, September 4th. The two also discuss and review their two newest subscription boxes - Loot Crate’s Villain 2 box, and the Marvel Collector Corps Secret Wars box.
Toys For Games welcomes the start of September, as Josh and Jason are back for Episode 35! This week they aren’t alone, however, as they brought on a special guest to help celebrate the launch of Disney Infinity 3.0! Straight from the Toy Box Summit, and in-between shifts at the popcorn stand in the El Capitan Theatre, it’s Mighty Gitis aka Lauren (@MightyLauren)! As an in-game character, a Disney Infinity celebrity and master of the Toy Box, Lauren brought with her lots of stories from the Toy Box Summit and tons of insightful wisdom regarding every aspect of the game. The trio also got to answer several DI-specific emails as well, many of which were directed to Mighty Gitis herself!
Don’t worry, Skylanders SuperChargers, LEGO Dimensions and of course, amiibo, are talked about as well! Despite it being Disney Infinity 3.0 launch week, the other toys-to-life franchises haven’t steered completely clear of Mickey Mouse and gang. LEGO Dimensions revealed the Midway Arcade Level Pack, Skylanders are looking BEAUTIFUL, and Shovel Knight is kicking down the amiibo door.
Time Stamps:
Josh and Jason prepare for the first huge release since the conception of the Toys For Games ‘Cast, as Disney Infinity 3.0 releases on August 30th! Before getting to the news, they break down the process of mailing coconuts. Once they get to the meat and potatoes of the show, the briefly discuss the quietness of LEGO Dimensions and break down some Skylanders SuperChargers launch news.
Then the fun starts, thanks to Nintendo, who dropped a megaton bomb of information out of nowhere at the start of Disney Infinity 3.0 week! Tons of amiibo news, all of which guarantees Toys For Games will be busy (and broke) through November. Finally, they get to Disney Infinity, as they talk about what to expect from the launch of the game, including all the best places to buy everything you want or need for the brand new game. It’s the final countdown now!
They also break down the #CommunityQuestion, and with the help of a couple of great community members, some actual info was pulled from it! The email section is entertaining as always, as the questions and discussions from them get better and better each week! Also, a huge announcement regarding the future of Toys For Games is made at the end of the show, and hopefully the response is as positive as anticipated!
Thank you all for truly being the Best Community Ever, and hopefully with your help, Toys For Games is going to infinity and beyond!
Time Stamps:
The dynamic duo is reunited once again, as Josh gladly welcomes Jason back onto the podcast from his Disneyland adventure. The two jump right into it, briefly talking about Jason's trip and all the amazing people he met and hung out with while down in Anaheim, and then also discuss their involvement with an amiibo auction/raffle being held by TakeThis.org at PAX Prime next weekend.
Please check out TakeThis.org. Thank you all for being so amazing. We couldn't do this without you.
Instead of sulking and crying in a corner while Jason is off having fun in beautiful Anaheim at the happiest place on Earth, Josh toughened up and did a show anyway, inviting his fiance Valerie to help him talk all about the toys-to-life franchises. Despite trying to stick to the main franchises of LEGO Dimensions, Disney Infinity, Skylanders and amiibo, the always entertaining topic of Tsum Tsum popped up at every turn during the podcast. They also read responses from the community regarding the #CommunityQuestion, and responded to some great critical thinking emails. They couple also announced two giveaways and spread love all over the #BestCommunityEver!
Time Stamps:

Josh and Jason are joined once again by the third point of their Triforce, Vince, as they break down all the latest and greatest news in the toys-to-life game franchises. With GamesCom happening, tons of news and information was released from a couple of the franchises, while another decided to put an end to rumors and make an official statement. Oh, and one is acting like a lost puppy, per the norm.
Disney Infinity 3.0 - all quiet on the Western Front, but that’s sort of okay in a weird way, with it being this close to launch.
LEGO Dimensions - Pulling back the curtain on the Ghostbusters franchise, along with some clarification about some confusion about the actual game.
Skylanders SuperChargers - Racing is confirmed, and suddenly the fifth entrant into the game series just got an entire makeover.
Amiibo - release dates and exclusivity deals revealed and confirmed.
Also, the #CommunityQuestion is tackled in hopes of finding out where people’s interest rests going into the Fall for COLLECTING these franchises. The email section is loaded with goodness as it always is. Oh, and a podcast-exclusive giveaway is announced, so for those listening, be sure to submit your entries soon!
Josh and Jason are back with another Collector's Edition of the Toys For Games 'Cast, this time once again joined by the Legendary Collector and Enthusiast, Vince! The trio of collectors talk about Vince's trip to Otakon and the haul of collectibles he walked away with. Also, the horrific reality of the Tsum Tsum craze and what it meant for Tsum Tsum Tuesday with the Aladdin collection. They preview Jason’s upcoming trip to Disneyland and D23, as well as a full breakdown of the most recent Loot Crate. Oh, and there is some legitimate, unironic discussion regarding Shopkins, the #1 Kids Cooking Kits on Amazon!
Josh and Jason are joined by a very special guest - Seth Hay! Seth is the web designed responsible for making ToysForGames.com, and was invited on the show to talk about the launch of the website, the release of Dark Pit and everything else inbetween.
This week, the Toys For Games ‘Cast was severely lacking news from Skylanders SuperChargers and substantial news from Disney Infinity, although they were able to discuss the recently released story trailer for LEGO Dimensions. The conversation picks up once they get to amiibo, where the releases of Palutena and Dark Pit are discussed, as well as the Chibi-Robo packaging and the rumored-but-pretty-much-confirmed special amiibo pre-order event being held at GameStop on August 8. The possibility of a 3-pack of the retro characters Duck Hunt, Game & Watch and ROB being sold exclusively at GameStop was talked about as well.
The results from the #CommunityQuestion was broken down, and of course, plenty of emails were read and responded to. Be sure to check out the Customs For A Cure: Rookie Mistakes charity auction and bid on some custom figures where 100% of the proceeds will go to St. Jude. !
Josh and Jason are back for episode 29 of the Toys For Games 'Cast! This week, the duo talk about their upcoming charity auction, Customs For A Cure: Rookie Mistakes. They also break down the latest and greatest news from the last week in the toys-to-life video game genre, including Disney Infinity's fan poll, raptors in LEGO Dimensions, confusing tweets from Skylanders, and of course, amiibo craziness. They also discuss the #CommunityQuestion regarding restocks of rare figures, and answer a plethora of emails.
Josh is reunited with Jason this week after Jason INSISTED on being part of the Collector's Edition podcast. Jason also brought along his good buddy and almost-regular guest of the show, Vince.
In this special edition of the Toys For Games Cast, the trio don't talk about the toys-to-life franchises at all, but instead talk about the wild and crazy things they have been collecting, will be collecting, and would like to collect soon. Enjoy this healthy and positive circle of trust for all the collectors out there looking for a safe place to call home and be understood.
Josh had to come up with a podcast on his own, since Jason's schedule wouldn't allow him to co-host this week, so he turned to the best partner he has ... his fiancee, Valerie! Together, they talk about the latest and greatest news in the toys-to-life franchises, but more importantly, reflect on the passing of Satoru Iwata, and just what he and his vision and inspiration meant to the community.
Also, be sure to partake in the newly announced "30 for 30" contest, where someone can win a $30 Amazon gift card just for leaving a review of the show.
Be sure to check out the cool Toys For Games stickers and help support the show!

The group has a blast talking about LEGO Dimensions revealing the Doctor Who franchise, the latest in amiibo, the insane expectations that Skylanders SuperChargers is placing on collectors, and the mind-blowing continued confusion of Disney Infinity 3.0.
